Most Christians recognize 1 Corinthians 13 as the Bible’s love chapter. This New Testament section enlightens us as to what pure love looks like, acts like, and feels like. Consequently, as we read and examine our hearts, the majority of us acknowledge our love deficiencies and our need for God’s assistance. However, there is an additional aspect for this chapter that we rarely examine.
We are told throughout Scripture that God is the totality of love, but so many people have never experienced God as love. Instead, they believe He is a hard taskmaster-condemning, demanding, void of joy, not fair or open-minded. Nevertheless, the love chapter reveals to us the truth about God’s many loving qualities, characteristics, and traits.
This Scripture explains: God endures long and is patient and kind toward us; God bears up under anything and everything that enters our lives; God is ever ready to believe the best of us; His hopes for improvement in our lives never fade, regardless of our circumstances; His love for us will continue; and He will be persistent to bring us toward a loving relationship with Him.
God will never fail us. It is His will to show us what true, unconditional love is!
“Love endures long and is patient and kind; love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything. Love never fails” (1Corinthians 13:4a, 7, 8b).
