“And I say, oh, that I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and be at rest. Yes, I would wander far away; I would lodge in the wilderness. Selah {pause, and calmly think of that]! I would hasten to escape and find a shelter from the stormy wind and tempest. Evening and morning and at noon will I utter my complaint and moan and sigh, and He will hear my voice. He has redeemed my life in…..
And a furious storm of wind [of hurricane proportions] arose, and the waves kept beating into the boat, so [that it was already becoming filled]. But He was in the stern of the boat, asleep on the cushion; and they awoke Him and said to Him, Master, do You not care that we are perishing? He arose and rebuked the wind and said peace be still! And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. He said to them,…..
Psalm 42:3 My tears have been my food day and night, while men say to me all day long, Where is your God? John 11:35 Jesus wept. Crying is the way we let go of hurt and pain. God created tears as an integral part of healing the heart. On the other hand, our world often associates crying with weakness or emotions that are out-of-hand, asking, “What is wrong with you?” In general, most people feel uncomfortable or awkward when…..
“For the Lord sees not as man sees; for man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart” (1Samuel 16:7b). The outward appearance of our lives is often different from what’s really going on inwardly. The dictionary states that the word casting is a verb meaning “to throw something away from yourself.” Yet sometimes we feel stuck or attached to our…..
And be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind [having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude].Eph.4:23 We were created in the likeness of God and given a body, soul, and spirit. The spirit part of us is where God resides, the center of our relationship where Jesus dwells inside of us. The spirit has power to control the mind, and the mind has power to control the body. When the “spirit of our mind” is renewed with God’s Truth,…..
At some level, we all like the approval of others and to be appreciated. When no appreciation or approval seems to evolve after we “perform”; work hard, give much, do good things for others, sacrifice, etc., it hurts, and can be frustrating or disappointing. But because of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, God accepts us as His children; we don’t have to perform for God to be accepted. Because we are God’s children, we do not need to be acknowledged…..
