With our words we create. As we speak positive words of light, goodness, kindness, love, patience, charity, and hope-or negative words of darkness, hatred, fear (Satan’s greatest tool), unkindness, intolerance, selfishness, despair, and discouragement-our tongues are producing life or death in our spiritual and physical world. Most of us do not understand that the words we choose can build up and bless or tear down and curse. By simply speaking positive words, we attract positive energy from our Lord’s spiritual realm of light. Many precious people have been cursed because somebody along the way spoke negatively to them, telling them they were dumb, stupid, ugly, sick, lazy, and so on. Believing those negative words, especially as a child, creates bondage in our lives. It takes time for Jesus’ blessing of love and His positive truths to undo the effects of negative words and to bring healing to wounded souls. As we choose to speak positive rather than negative words, let us comprehend that our words contain the power to create life or death in ourselves and in others.

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it [for death or life]” (Proverbs 18:21).
